Berlin (dts) – The FDP is pushing for a common European China strategy. “It would be extremely important, especially when it comes to the issue of China or the confrontation with China as a systemic rival, if the Europeans could speak with a common language,” said FDP General Secretary Bijan Djir-Sarai on Tuesday to the broadcasters RTL and ntv.

“A common European stance would strengthen our position overall,” he added, referring to China President Xi Jinping’s trip to Europe. “But it is completely clear that we have had a wrong and naive China policy for many decades, both in Germany and Europe.”
